Lesson 4. How to negotiate and sell more using questions?

All communication and interactions cause an expectation.

Are you familiar with the situation when someone shares with you the events of their day, you start making recommendations and see that this is not what the person expected from this conversation?

Or instead you silently listen to the person and suddenly discover that this is not what the person expected from you either?

Or the client doesn’t buy, although he reached you upon own initiative and it looks as if you have not discovered what he needs?

This often happens when we do not know what a person expects from communicating with us. We listen silently because we consider this as the most appropriate. Or we advise because it is obvious to us that he needs it. Or maybe we sometimes want to hug someone because it feels like he needs support.

Actually, to get the best result you only need to use “The Three Rules of the Agreement”
● First. Ask the person what will be the best result of this conversation, project or deal for him● Second. Ask what is the best way for you to behave: “How would you like me to play my role in this conversation now?”● Third. During the conversation don’t forget to ask: “Are we moving in the right direction?”
